Madison Hurricane Harvey Rollout

What you are seeing are trucks rolling out of the SERVPRO of Madison / Goodlettsville office to support residents affected by Hurricane Harvey. These crew members deployed forward to the affected parts of Texas flooded, damaged, and in some cases leveled by the hurricane as part of a Large Loss Response Team (LLRT).

Technicians from Madison / Goodlettsville and other SERVPRO franchises complete special training in addition to what they need for their regular duties to be a part of an LLRT. The purpose of the team is to deploy nationwide to areas hit by major disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, and wildfires.

Their duties are to help restore, rebuild, and reopen businesses in affected areas. The teams concentrate on businesses since the efforts of most state, and federal efforts are helping people rebuild their homes and otherwise recover from the disaster.

Each LLRT brings in everything it needs to get started and operate independently for the first few days. The team augments the efforts of first responders and State and Federal agencies so they can concentrate on rescuing families and other emergency services. The idea is to add to recovery operations without taking away resources needed to help individuals recover.

On arriving, this team began removing water and drying out facilities designated as important to restoring services, providing a place for residents to live and to start local economies growing again. They cleaned out and restored hospitals, hotels, and power stations, as well as city, state, and federal buildings needed to take care of residents and rebuild infrastructure.

The next step was to help reopen businesses that employed large numbers of affected residents. Our goal is to put people back to work so they can continue supporting their families and rebuild their homes while also returning communities to their pre-disaster state as quickly as possible.
